The Arts Fund

Dear Parent/Supporter–

For almost 20 years, the Ridgewood Education Foundation has been helping foster excellence in the Arts at Ridgewood High School through ongoing grant awards. A number of the well-loved programs described herein were first made possible by grants from the Foundation. With budget-strapped schools everywhere dropping classes and instruction in the Arts, we in Ridgewood want to insure this never happens in our village.

On behalf of the Arts Program in Ridgewood High School, the Ridgewood Education Foundation is appealing to you to help us continue our support of the Arts. Our funds are budgeted carefully, seeking to maximize each child’s artistic experiences throughout his or her high school career.

With your help, we can continue this process for your children and grandchildren. Please consider a generous contribution to the high school’s Arts Programs. All funds received in response to this plea will be dedicated to this purpose. These contributions are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law. On behalf of all of Ridgewood High School’s students, we are most grateful for your support.

You can now assign your membership fee directly to the Arts Fund: click here.

Arts Fund Grants

"Music Matters" - A Music Speaker Series will enable the Ridgewood High School Music department to present a series of presentations on the importance and value of a strong music education for students at all grade levels. Three prominent speakers will be brought to Ridgewood throughout the school year to provide insight and to share their experience based on their particular areas of professional expertise and from their own distinct points of view. Each presenter will offer a 60 to 90 minute session designed for parents, community members, and school and community leaders. One of the presenters will also lead Ridgewood High School music students in music leadership seminars. This grant is made possible by generous gifts to the RHS Arts Fund.

Visual Arts at RHS has recently received a $4000 grant from the Arts Fund to buy some much needed equipment for its studio. Heading up the department's wish list was a SawStop cabinet saw, which is a safe table saw that stops instantly when touched. Students in Architectural Design, Structural Applications, and Applied Technology courses would use this equipment.
